The chart below compares the two proposals for operation of the Tecopa Hot Springs and Campground, from California Land Management and the Hummingbird Family Resource Center, with current county operations. The county will make a decision in May 2004.

Eric C. Mart, of Palo Alto, President, Secretary/Treasurer and sole private stockholder, with many decades in Parks & Rec management. Manages over 200 parks, campgrounds, and day-use areas in CA, OR and WA. In business under CLM, Inc. since 1981. Some are user-fee, some free.

Controlled by: the local community and public. Funds stay in community and county, and will be used to fund vital social services at the Hummingbird Family Resource Center.

CAMPGROUND

 

 

2 Park Rangers and ½ time office staff. 2 additional ½ time in winter. Manager in Lone Pine. Employees have full county pay status and benefits. Some live on site, some off.

1 asst. manager and 2-3 hosts in winter, 2 host/ caretakers in summer. All employees live on site, space and services as part of pay. Manager in Big Bear, San Bernardino. Total salary $35,000/yr.

1Camp Coordinator, one Office Manager (1/2 time) and 3 hosts in winter, 1- 2 host/ caretakers in summer.

Camp fees are $10 & $14 (electric), with monthly rates.

Camp fees are $12 & $16 (electric), no monthly rates. Reservation fee: $10. Additional persons after 2: $2. $5 each additional vehicle.

Sewage: County is seeking a grant to repair pond, to comply with CA state law.
