Las Vegas area

The Old Spanish Trail, which is not shown on most maps, is the most direct paved route between Las Vegas and Tecopa.  Take 160 northwest from Las 
Vegas to Pahrump. 13 miles before Pahrump (visible on the horizon in front of you), take the left (west) turn marked for Tecopa. Proceed through Charleston View and several beautiful desert valleys to Tecopa. One series of hairpin turns over a low pass make this an adventure for larger RVs, although people do it all the time.
