In the 07/08 budget,  Inyo Co. Waste Management proposed to raise income for capital expenditures needed at north county dumps by canceling dumpster service to south and southeast communities.  On 10/4/07, the Board told the public at a special meeting in Stovepipe Wells that 5th District trash hauling contracts had been renewed for this fiscal year (July 07-June 08) but that the Board still needed to find additional income to cover this cost.
